Chinese name: 益新美食館
Popular among some of Hong Kong's celebs and who's who, Yixin restaurant serves top notch authentic Cantonese fare in fairly nice surroundings...
Located in Happy Valley's Jardine's Lookout, completely out of the main shopping and entertainment precincts, it caters mostly for locals and although you'll need a cab to get here (Just a short drive from Causeway Bay), and you might have a bit of a problem finding English-speaking waiters, it's a unique dining experience and the fantastic food is well worth the effort.
As in most of Hong Kong's Chinese restaurants, the interior design and ambience in Yixin are certainly not to die for, but the restaurant is sufficiently pleasant and the food is first class... Cantonese Char siu (BBQ) is the main draw, but there are many other lovely dishes, from Dim sums and dumplings to Superior Shark's Fin and Crab Roe soup, Home Style Rice Duck and their signature Deep-fried Chicken with Lemon Sauce.
Prices here are just slightly higher than in average Chinese restaurants, but the quality of the food makes up for the extra buck (HK$ 200 - 300 per person for a nice meal).
