Good old SanVa has been nestled along historic Rua da Felicidade for nearly a century and still offers one of the best options for those travellers who look for a cheap, but reasonable hstel-style accommodation around the city centre of Macau.
Rooms at SanVa Hotel are far from being fancy, but are all the same comfortable enough, and what they lack in luxurious frills they make up for in character (And then there is, of course, the special character of Rua da Felicidade itself…). At the time of writing, the guesthouse is undergoing a facelift and soon there are going to be some air-conditioned rooms with ensuite bathrooms, but until then, you will have to be satisfied with ceiling fans, shared bathrooms and plenty of nostalgia…
Another advantage of the SanVa is its ideal location: Just a few minutes walk from Senado Square and most of Macau's heritage sites.
Rates, at the time of writing, range around MOP 160 for a "large" double room with balcony.
