Tacked on tiny Ship Street, not far from Wanchai's Hopewell Centre, this small family-run restaurant serves what must be some of the most authentic Portuguese food you can get in Hong Kong (without having to cross the water to Macau... )
Decked out in a rustic Portuguese style, the restaurant has a lovely alfresco dining area on the sidewalk outside, which adds to the "European town atmosphere" of this place...
The menu features a long list of traditional Portuguese favorites... From the ultimate Bacalhau delicacies (codfish casserole-style dishes) to Sardinhas assadas (grilled sardines) Chouriço sausages, Galinha a Portuguesa (Portuguese style chicken), Braised oxtail stew and what not...
Among the recommended desserts you can find Molten chocolate cake and Serradura (a traditional Portuguese pudding)
All in all, it's a lovely dining experience, but if you do plan to travel to Macau and visit culinary icons like A Lorcha, Antonio Restaurante, Perola, Solmar and Fernando's, maybe you should save your precious tummy room for something else...
Prices are not too bad: Around HK$ 200 - 300 per person
