Maxim's Palace City Hall

.

This uber popular restaurant is where many Hong Kongers take their visitors to, when they want to give them a true taste of dim-sum, and while there are better dim-sum and dumpling places across the city, Maxim's Palace still serves some of the best, and also offers a real "old Hong Kong ambience", with white tablecloths, chandeliers, and huge windows through which you can admire the gorgeous views of Victoria Harbour and Kowloon…

As you can expect, food is still served from trolleys here -The traditional way.

One of the cons of Maxim's Palace is that you almost always have to wait, but the queue moves quickly and if you are with a small group, most chances they will find a table for you in just a few minutes.

Recommended dishes include Steamed bean curd rolls stuffed with pork or prawns (or vegetarian),  Deep fried glutinous rice puffs stuffed with porkSweet crusty char siu bao  and  Beef rice roll, just to name a few…

Prices are no too high, and certainly justify the dining experience…
