This trattoria-pizzeria serves some fantastic pasta dishes, as well as other south Italian favorites, in a very pleasant and easygoing surroundings.
Occupying a beautiful pre-war shophouse on hip Club Street, it is owned and run by two jolly Italian chefs who serve southern Italian fare, with focus on the islands of Sardinia and Sicily.
Mediterranean-rustic interior décor makes you feel like you are in a village somewhere in south Italy, or Greece... Terra cotta flooring, light blue furniture, crisp white walls, blue ceiling beams and a small alfresco verandah, facing the street... The ambiance too is very pleasant and quaint, works well for a romantic dinner or a nice gathering with friends...
Recommended dishes include:
Sardinian style hand cured fish carpaccio dusted with mullet roe,
Burrata cheese from Puglia with rocket and tomato salad,
Hand cured beef with lemon oil and shaved Parmesan cheese,
Risotto with castelmagno cheese and seasonal mushroom,
Cugini's special Spaghetti aglio olio,
Tortiglioni with cream and mushroom,
Freshly made vegetable lasagna with ricotta cheese and spinach
and a decent range of more than twenty pizzas, including their sweet Nutella & Cream Pizza (although the pasta dishes should be better choice).
Prices are fairly reasonable for a restaurant of this level; Around SG$ 30 - 50 for a nice meal.
