The Venetian is no doubt one of, if not the best of Macau's luxury hotels. Nontheless, it draws divided opinions and while almost everybody agrees that the rooms here are among the best in the world, many travelers complaint that everything about this hotel is oversized, which means it is somewhat impersonal... Not to mention that you have to waste much of your precious time and energy walking to and from the room...

Another issue that some people brought up is the location of Venetian Macau in Cotai... After all, most travelers prefer to be within walking distance to Largo Senado and the city centre rather than to rely on shuttles (On the other hand, there is so much to do in The Venetian and around COTAI in the evening, you probably won't want to leave the area....).
The supporters, on the other hand, argue that what the outstanding Venetian has to offer to its guests simply overshadows all cons... From unbelievable rooms (which should be more appropriately named suites), through fantastic facilities, to stylish shopping and entertainment venues and, of course, the world's largest casino...
|
Another great advantage the Venetian has is its great rates... Especially now, when the economic crunch is hitting hard on Macau's tourism industry, you can afford yourself such a splurge at a fraction of what it would have cost you in a similar hotel elsewhere around the world (if you book online, you can end up paying something like MOP$ 1,500 to 2,000 per suite per night... which is really not much, compared to what you get...)

Naturally, it is impossible to determine if the supporters are right, or whether the opponents are right... It depends, first and foremost on who you are and what is your idea of a holiday in Macau... What we do suggest is that if you plan to stay in Macau for a few days, maybe you should spend at least one night at the Venetian... Just for the experience.
