The Song of India

Located in a charming colonial bungalow, just a few steps away from Orchard Road, this sumptuous restaurant serves the best of contemporary Indian cuisine in a refined setting.

Lavishly decked out in an elegant European style, with chandeliers, classic columns, artistic paints (the restaurant actually hosts art exhibitions), crisp white tablecloths and perfect table settings... The ambience is expectedly soothing and relaxing, and the generous spacing between the tables makes it possible to have a quiet, uninterrupted conversation.  The service, almost needless to say, is impeccable.

There are a few set-menus to choose from, including a-la-carte menu, and all are presenting a wide choice of outstandingly delicious and flavorful stuff from all over India... Lashoona Jhinga (Tandoor-grilled garlic-marinated jumbo prawns, stuffed with spiced crayfish and shrimps), Pan seared foie-gras, lightly spiced with star anise masala,   Saffron Basmati rice,   Kashmiri Lamb Rogan josh (aromatic mutton curry),   Nally Ghosht (Lamb shanks in herb and a robust scented Luckanvi jus)  and  Lobster Moiley, just to name a few...

As expected from such a classy restaurant, there is an impressive wine list, as well as a decent choice of cocktails and fine Cuban cigars to complement the fabulous dinning experience with.

On Sunday, they have a fantastic brunch-buffet which is highly recommended
