The hive was opened in 2005 by a few Singaporean army mates and fast became one of the city's most popular backpacker hostels.
Occupying an old house on the corner of Serngoon and Lavender, just a short stroll from all the hustle and bustle of Little India, as well as from Farrer Park MRT Station, it provides its guests with a clean and pleasant place at fairly reasonable prices.
You can choose between dormitories (mix or ladies only), or double rooms (or rooms for four) and prices include the usual shebang of breakfast, free internet, free local calls, laundry facilities, lockers, luggage storage, nice communal area with a snooker table and TV, books, newspapers, magazines and so on…
Rates are around SG$ 20 per bed per night (20 beds / 10 bunk beds in a hall) all the way to SG$ 50 for a private double room… Not bad for Singapore.
