Visiting Singapore ? Guided day trips are a very nice way to explore this unique and beautiful city...

While it is true to say that 'Restaurant-chains' and 'good food' do not usually go together... Thai Express, "the world's largest chain of modern Thai restaurants" (so they claim) is definitely a pleasant exception...
They have around 15 outlets in Singapore alone, and the one in the Esplanade mall is one of the nicest... There is nothing "Thai" about the way it looks, but it is pleasantly decked out in a contemporary-vivid style, with plenty of light wood and a floor-to-ceiling window which makes the place look spacious and airy... you can also dine 'alfresco' and enjoy nice views of Marina bay.
The food is surprisingly good and even more surprisingly... it tastes quite authentic... not the classiest or most authentic Thai cuisine you can find in town, but certainly a good value for your buck.
The comprehensive menu features a very good choice... from Mango and grilled chicken salad to spicy Tom yam seafood soup and from Green curry chicken to a variety of Thai Laksa, Noodle dishes, Rice specialties, Thai BBQs and what not...
Prices are quite reasonable: around SG$ 20 - 30 for a decent meal
