Shashlik has been serving lovely Russian and European cuisine for quite a few years and is still as good and popular as before...
Tucked at Far East Shopping Centre, the restaurant boasts a fairly nice and elegant décor, not too glitzy or flamboyant, but reasonably nice and pleasant (although a bit old-fashioned)... service is decent and the food is constantly good... a combination of European classics and Russian grill dishes... nothing is too adventurous or sophisticated.
As the name suggests, Shashlik (the Russian version of grilled Shish-kebab) is the main draw of this place... you can have a Beef-fillet Shaslik, Chicken Shashlik, Lamb, Pork... you name it. Other than Shashlik, there are some other recommended dishes like Borscht, Blinis (Crêpe) with caviar or salmon and familiar classics like Chateaubriand , Beef Stroganoff, Chicken Kiev and Steaks...
For dessert, their Banana flambé is quite good, and so is the Bliny (Crêpe) with brandy butter sauce.
Prices are not too high: a decent a-la-carte dinner is around SG$ 40 - 50
