This popular restaurant serves some excellent North Indian cuisine in very pleasant surroundings.
Located at Raffles City Shopping Centre, it is nicely decked out in a "royal-Indian style", with red carpets, lavish furniture and artistically carved Teak-wood panels all around. It is not insanely decorated though... just enough to enjoy the Indian theme without getting an overdose of it...
Ambience is fairly pleasant and soothing, as the place is spacious enough and the live Indian band doesn't scream their lungs out, so you can truly enjoy some pleasant background music.
The menu presents a wide selection of North Indian specialties... From the ultimate Mulligatawny soup (tangy, spicy soup with rice and chicken) and various types of crispy Samosas, to a choice of Tandoor delicacies, Vegetarian dishes, Seafood, Chicken and Lamb...
Recommended dishes include: Prawn korma (Prawns cooked in thick Korma gravy, with Cashew nuts, Paneer cottage cheese and spices), Palak Paneer (a dish of spinach and Paneer cottage cheese), Aloo Gobi ("dry curry" of potatoes and cauliflower) and, of course, their lovely Tandoor-grilled dishes that are all scrumptious and succulent... Murgh Malai (Tandoor-grilled chunks of chicken, marinated in a creamy-cheese marinade), Murghi Tikka (chicken Tikka), Fish Tikka, Lahsuni Jheenga (Tandoor-grilled prawns), Lamb chops and the sumptuous Tandoori Milawat which is like a big combo that has everything in it...
