If you wish to try good, authentic congees, this is probably one of the best places to go to... This simple Chinese eatery has nothing in the way of glitzy design or elegant ambience but it serves some excellent congees at a very affordable price.
Congee is a type of rice porridge, eaten in many countries across east Asia. To make a Cantonese congee, white rice is boiled in water for a long time, until the rice breaks down and becomes a fairly viscous white porridge. The congee is then served with different meats, fish or vegetarian options. Other seasonings, such as white pepper and soy sauce, may also be added.
Recommended dishes include: Pig's heart congee, Liver congee, Chicken congee, dried scallop congee, fish belly congee and vegetarian congee...
Prices are very good: normally, you will get change from HK$ 50
