The Hong Kong Card allows you to enjoy the city's best restaurants without having to dig too deep in your pockets...
Legendary Fernando's is another "institution" and a mecca for food lovers, especially on weekends, when this famous Macau restaurant is packed with both locals and tourists.
Located on Coloane Island's beautiful Hac-Sa beach, the restaurant is housed within a simple red bricks structure, surrounded by flourishing shrubs and vines. The décor is simple and nice, with bamboo furniture, red/white checked tablecloths and old-style ceiling fans, and the atmosphere is very pleasant.
Untypical to many Macau restaurants, there is no air condition at Fernando's, but the sea-breeze (boosted by the ceiling fans) is normally good enough to fight the heat.
The extensive menu has a lot of delicacies to choose from... Caldo Verde (the famous Portuguese green soup), Clams in garlic or tomato sauce, Sardinhas assadas, Variety of Charcoal-grilled Portuguese style BBQs (Steak, Pork ribs, Chicken, Fish, Crab, Squid... you name it) and the likes... and the lovely meal is accompanied by freshly baked bread that comes from the restaurant's own bakery.
Adjacent to the restaurant, there is a nice outdoor bar where you can have a drink before or after dinner... This bar becomes particularly useful on weekends, when you have to wait some time for a table (they do not accept reservations).
Prices are quite reasonable : Dinner is around MOP$ 200-300 (excluding wine and alcohol), which is quite average for a Macau restaurant of this standard.
Open daily, 12 noon - 9:30 pm (the bar stays open till midnight)
