This popular and well established Singapore hostel has long become an icon among backpackers in Little India.
Prince of Wales occupies a small historic building with a fairly charismatic architecture, on the corner of Madras and Dunlop streets, just a few minutes' walk from Serangoon Road (Little India main thoroughfare) and the subway (MRT) station and offer its guests a clean and tidy place, easygoing ambience, friendly staff and a nice Aussie-style pub, with live performances every Sunday, snooker table and discounted Australian beers… There is also a small open area where you can BBQ, or have your breakfast in the open air.
Accommodation at Prince of Wales is available in both double rooms and 6-bed dormitories. A dormitory bed is SG$ 22 per night, at the time of writing, and what you get certainly justifies the price. There are also double rooms at a price of SG$ 50 per room per night and, again, for a hostel in Singapore this price is really good.
Address: 101 Dunlop Street, Little India (An offshoot of the hostel has opened recently on Boat Quay – Facing the Singapore River)
