This basic eating place serves some of the best Bak Kut Teh around this side of Chinatown and although it is not right in the heart of Tanjong Pagar, it is not too far either (just a short walk). Bak Kut Teh (translates to: Pork Rib Tea Soup) is a popular Singaporean-Chinese soup that consists of meaty pork ribs in a complex broth of herbs and spices (including star anise, cinnamon, cloves, dang gui and garlic), boiled together with pork bones for hours...
They do serve a few other Singaporean-Chinese dishes but the Bak Kut Teh is, by all means, the reason why most customers come here.
