Ocean Empire Food Shop is the first restaurant chain in Hong Kong that specializes in traditional Cantonese congee.
Congee is a type of rice porridge, eaten in many countries across east Asia. To make a Cantonese congee, white rice is boiled in water for a long time, until the rice breaks down and becomes a fairly viscous white porridge. The congee is then served with different meats, fish or vegetarian options. Other seasonings, such as white pepper and soy sauce, may also be added.
Other than a wide variety of congees, they also serve some nice noodles dishes.
