This popular restaurant-chain has been serving decent wood-fired pizza long before the "so-called authentic Italian eateries" started to pop up like mushrooms after the rain... While the food here might not be as "authentic Italian" as what you can find in some of those swanky chef-restaurants, it is quite good and flavorful and it comes in generous portions.
Modesto's has three outlets and they are all very nice, both in terms of décor and ambience, with a large 'alfresco' area where you can get together with friends or just have a romantic sundowner... The outlet at The Elizabeth Hotel is probably the best for ambience and beautiful environment...
The menu is vast enough for everyone to find something to his liking... from a variety of Antipasti, Bruschetta, Salads and Soups to a wide choice of Pastas, Risotto, Wood-fired-pizzas, Focaccia sandwiches and main dishes (fish, chicken, beef and the likes...) and, of course, some lip-smacking Italian desserts and coffees...
Add to this an impressive choice of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks... can you ask for much more?
Prices are not too bad: A decent a-la-carte dinner is around SG$ 30-60, while set-lunch is a real steal at around SG$ 20
