Macau's medical facilities are modern and well advanced and there is no problem to receive any kind of treatment. The standards are as high as in most western countries.
It is very recommended to obtain a comprehensive health-insurance before arrival as medical costs can be quite expensive.

Generally speaking, Macau is a clean city that maintains high standards of hygiene. That normally includes food centers and markets, where authentic food is prepared in cheap eateries. Most of these eateries and stalls are visited frequently by health-inspectors. However, it is always good to take precautions, especially if you want to eat seafood... just make sure that the place is reasonably clean before you order food.
Tap water in Macau should be safe to drink but the taste is not something to write home about... The pipeline is old in some parts of the city and the rust affects the water. Bottled water is not expensive and can be bought everywhere.
Vaccination certificates are not required usually. You might need to have a Yellow Fever vaccine if coming from a contaminated area (mostly Africa and Latin America). Check with your carriers before departure.
