3-star hotels and Mid-range accommodation

First, a few words about Macau's mid-range and 3-star hotels...

All those places were recommended by both travelers and tourism professionals. They are usually very clean and comfortable and the rooms are properly furnished with air-conditioning, ensuite bathroom, TV, IDD phone and the likes.  Hotel facilities in those places are also pretty good.

Price range for a double room in this category is around MOP$ 500 to 1,000 per room per night.

An important tip from 'Metropolasia-Man' :

Booking through one of the agents at the Ferry-Terminal in Hong Kong (before departure) might get you the best rates, but you are running the risk of finding no vacant rooms : Especially before weekends and holidays...

We particularly recommend two online hotel reservation services (with whom we are affiliated): The first is Agoda, which specializes in Asia, and the second is Hotels Combined, which is a price comparison service for hotels that searches 30 of the world's major travel sites at once, to get the best rate possible.

Lovely 'Pousada de Mong Ha' is actually a training unit of Macau's Institute For Tourism Studies (IFT) and offers one of the best accommodation options you can find around Macau in the mid-range budget...
The Sintra is a very popular hotel that gives excellent value for money. Centrally located next to the Lisboa Casino, it is within short walking distance to many of Macau's tourist attractions, shopping and entertainment.
The Grandview is a very good four star hotel that offers some of the best accommodation deals around Taipa island. Centrally located by the horse racing and the famous 4-faced Buddha statue, it is within short walking distance to both Taipa Village and the casinos at Taipa's northern part.
For those of you who want to get away from it all (well... in Macau standards), Pousada de Coloane is a lovely family-run hotel, located on the beautiful Cheoc-Van beach at the southern part of Coloane island. The Pousada enjoys the beautiful views of the bay and the lush, green hills around it.
The recently renovated Metropole is possibly Macau's most reasonably priced mid-range hotel. It doesn't boast much in the way of luxury but the rooms are comfortable, sensibly big (at least for this price level) and well equipped with air condition, ensuite bath, TV, mini-bar, hairdryer and the likes...
The Metropark is, possibly, one of the best mid-range accommodation options you can find in Macau, giving excellent value to money. Formerly known as 'The Grandeur', the hotel enjoys a great location, halfway between the Lisboa and Guia hill, and close enough to most of the city's casinos, entertainment, shopping and tourist attractions.
The emperor is a relatively large and modern hotel that provides decent accommodation to both businessmen and travelers at a fairly reasonable price.
The lovely Guia Hotel is one of the better three star hotels around Macau and offers decent accommodation at a very reasonable price.
The Fortuna is a popular three stars hotel, centrally located in the heart of the casinos district, a block away from the famous Lisboa and within a short walking distance to the city's entertainment and shopping venues, as well as to many of the tourist attractions.
Best Western Taipa hotel is another good option for mid-range budget accommodation on Taipa Island. Located at the foot of Taipa Grande' hill and surrounded by some green landscapes, the hotel is within short walking distance to Taipa village, Taipa houses museum and other attractions. Bus stop is just nearby so getting to town shouldn't be a problem either.
