A few words about Macau's mid-range and 3-star hotels...

Each of the hotels in this category was recommended by both travelers and tourism professionals. They are usually very clean and comfortable and the rooms are properly furnished with air-conditioning, ensuite bathroom, TV, IDD phone and the likes.  The facilities in these hotels are also pretty good.

The rate for a room in an average 3-star hotel in Macau ranges around MOP$ 500 to 1,000 per room per night.

Our most recommended hotels in the 3-star category include Hotel Sintra (for the best value for money), Metropole Hotel Macau (for the unbeatable prices, as well as for the location), Metropark Hotel Macau (Fantastic location and great bang for the buck) and Pousada de Mong Ha (For its picturesque location and fantastic service).

An important tip from 'Metropolasia-Man' :

Booking through one of the agents at the Ferry-Terminal in Hong Kong (before departure) might get you the best rates, but you are running the risk of finding no vacant rooms : Especially before weekends and holidays...

We particularly recommend two online hotel reservation services (with which we are affiliated): The first is Agoda, which specializes in Asia, and the second is Hotels Combined, which is a price comparison service for hotels that searches 30 of the world's major travel sites at once, to get the best rate possible.

Lovely 'Pousada de Mong Ha' is actually a training unit of Macau's Institute For Tourism Studies (IFT) and offers one of the best accommodation options you can find around Macau in the mid-range budget...
Hotel Sintra is one of the best 3 star hotels around downtown Macau, offering its guests fantastic location, as well good service and nice, spacious rooms, at a more than reasonable price.
For those of you who want to get away from it all (well... in Macau standards), Pousada de Coloane is a lovely family-run hotel, located on the beautiful Cheoc-Van beach at the southern part of Coloane island. The Pousada enjoys the beautiful views of the bay and the lush, green hills around it.
The recently renovated Metropole Hotel is possibly Macau's most reasonably priced mid-range hotel. It doesn't boast much in the way of luxury but the rooms are comfortable, sensibly big (at least for this price level) and well equipped with air condition, ensuite bath, TV, mini-bar, hairdryer and the likes...
Metropark Hotel Macau is, possibly, one of the best mid-range accommodation options you can find around town, giving excellent value to money. Formerly known as 'The Grandeur', Metropark Hotel enjoys a great location, halfway between the Lisboa and Guia hill, which means it is close enough to most of Macau's casinos, entertainment, shopping and tourist attractions.
The emperor is a relatively large and modern hotel that provides decent accommodation to both businessmen and travelers at a fairly reasonable price.
The lovely Guia Hotel is one of the better three star hotels around Macau and offers decent accommodation at a very reasonable price.
Hotel Fortuna Macau is a popular 3 star hotel, centrally located in the heart of the casinos district, a block away from the famous Lisboa and within a short walking distance to Macau's entertainment and shopping venues, as well as to many of the tourist attractions.
Best Western Taipa hotel is another good option for mid-range budget accommodation on Taipa Island. Located at the foot of Taipa Grande' hill and surrounded by some green landscapes, the hotel is within short walking distance to Taipa village, Taipa houses museum and other attractions. Bus stop is just nearby so getting to town shouldn't be a problem either.
