A few words about Macau's cheap hotels
This section covers the most recommended of Macau cheap hotels: Mostly the equivalent of 2-star and 3-star hotels...
These cheap hotels were all recommended by both travelers and tourism professionals, as they are usually quite clean and comfortable, with reasonably furnished rooms that boast air-conditioning, bathroom, TV and some other amenities.
Hotel facilities in those places are quite limited...
Double room rates in Macau cheap hotels start from around MOP$ 200-250 and goes all the way up to MOP$ 500 per room per night... The newly refurbished Ole London Hotel is at the highest end of what can be called "low budget accommodation", which means that while it may be too pricy for backpackers, it makes a perfectly good choice for those who look for a decent, cheap hotel in Macau (especially if your idea of a holiday in Macau is exploring the city rather than just lazying around the room).
This popular hotel (or, more approprietly,"an upgraded guesthouse") has been renovated recently, so most of the fittings are still fairly new...

Also on Rua da Felicidade, next door to Hotel Ko wah, Villa Universal is another good choice for backpackers who are willing to spend just a bit more to get a decent accommodation.
The East Asia is one of the better and more popular low-budget hotels you can find in Macau.
