Las Vegas of the Orient

The Wynn fountain-show (and other attractions)

The Fountain-Show at Wynn Macau is certainly something worth watching, especially nowadays, when the Cybernetic Fountain performances are not always as flamboyant as they used to be (and are not held daily anymore...)

Developed by the same people who created the internationally known Bellagio Fountains in Vegas, the fountain-show at the Wynn features a beautiful combination of sound, lights, bursts of fire and water pyrotechnics, and although it is not as extravagant as its counterpart in Las Vegas, it is still spectacular.

The "Performance Lake", where the fountain-show takes place, is right in front of the hotel's entrance, which means that getting there is as easy as pie, no matter what part of town you are coming from.

The show is roughly 10-15 minutes long and there are quite a few different shows every evening, so even if you have seen one, you can still watch another one without getting bored...

And if you are at the Wynn already, do not miss the other free (and thrilling) attractions this glitzy hotel has to offer, such as the "Tree of Prosperity Show", which is the centerpiece of the hotel's atrium: A state-of-the-art choreographed multimedia presentation, combining computer effects, light, music and video.  The show, which displays the growth of a gold tree, begins every 30 minutes and is alternating with the "Dragon of Fortune" – Another extremely impressive feature of the Wynn, displaying how a mighty dragon rises from the ground, puffing smoke from his nostrils under the fiery sky…

The Moon Jellyfish Aquarium, at the reception of the Encore Lobby, boasts a thousand of these translucent creatures and is certainly worth watching.

If you really want to splurge it, book a window table at Il Teatro, the Wynn's fabulous Italian restaurant, and you are sure to enjoy a lovely evening...

Getting here: Wynn Macau is an easy walk from Largo Senado and many of Macau city centre hotels. There is also a fairly large bus station on the roundabout opposite the fountain.
