One of Hong Kong tallest skyscrapers
The mighty Two International Finance Centre (or 2 IFC, as it is more commonly known) was Hong Kong's tallest tower until recently but is currently surpassed by the newly completed International Commerce Centre in Kowloon.
Standing right between the Ferry Pier and Hong Kong Station, a short walking distance from everywhere, this steel and glass giant soars to a height of 415 meters and features one of the most noticeable landmarks along Hong Kong's metropolitan skyline.
Built in the early 2000 by César Pelli, the world known Argentinean architect who designed the Petronas Twin Tower in Malaysia, the obelisk-shaped skyscraper brought about a lot of controversy, as it breached the city planning guidelines which specifically restrict any building from 'cutting' Mount Victoria's ridgeline, when seen from Tsim sha Tsui's waterfront.

There is no observation deck at the top of the building, but visitors are welcome to visit the Information Centre of Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), on the 55th floor, and enjoy the breathtaking sceneries...
The information-centre is open from Monday to Friday, 10am - 6pm and on Saturday, 10am - 1pm (closed on Sundays and public holidays). Entrance is free of charge.
2 IFC is one of only a few buildings in the world that have double-deck elevators.
Exchange Square Complex, just a short stroll from 2 IFC, on the corner of Connaught Place (from where you can enter), is the home of Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and boasts a lovely piazza-like open space, with contemporary sculptures and some nice coffee shops.
