Other means of public transport

Light Rail Transit (LRT)

The LRT is the light rail component of Singapore's rail network, consisting of localised rail systems acting as feeder services to the Mass Rapid Transit network. It mostly commutes passengers from the stations along the MRT northeast line and South-North line to the residential suburbs.  The LRT is not of much interest to visitors (unless you plan to visit a local friend, living in one of the suburbs...).

Payment methods in the LRT are similar to those of MRT and, as usual, using EZ-Link card is better and cheaper.

Trishaw

is a human-powered rickshaw, usually with one or two seats for carrying passengers in addition to the driver.  They are quite common around touristic areas like Chinatown and Bugis, but other than riding them for fun, they have very little significance as means of transport... Short rides cost around SG$ 10-20 and a one hour sightseeing tour should cost around SG$ 50

Ferries, boats and cable car

Small boats connect Singapore and its satellite islands.  More information about getting to Singapore's offshore islands and Sentosa will be given in the relevant destination chapters across this website.
