Housed in a beautifully restored old building, the Gateway is a fairly nice boutique hotel that gives reasonable value for money.

Location wise, it is quite centrally located on the main street of Singapore's Malay enclave of Geylang Serai, surrounded by shops, restaurants and night-spots, and a stonethrow away from the Malay Village and other places of interest.

Traveling to the city centre and elsewhere should not be a problem either, as the MRT station of Paya Lebar is just a 15 minutes walk, and there are also many buses that pass by.
The rooms are quite OK and include most of the amenities you would expect to find in a hotel of this standard.
Hotel facilities are quite limited and include internet connection and some basic business facilities.
