This lovely restaurant is the first overseas outlet of one of Indonesia's most popular restaurants... It is owned by Tung Lok, the same tremendously successful group that owns LingZhi and Noble House, and it specializes in authentic Nasi Padang cuisine from the region of West-Sumatra, Indonesia (it's actually their first restaurant not to serve Chinese cuisine).
The specialties they serve here are quite different than what is commonly sold in Singapore's hawker-centres as Nasi Padang... both in variety, taste and texture, and are usually closer to the "real thing"... recommended dishes include:
Ayam Kampung Goreng Bumbu (Village style fried chicken with herb floss), Beef Rendang, Fish head curry, Chicken curry, Prawns with piquant Sambal Petai, Deep-fried catfish with green chili sauce, Quail eggs & chicken liver with piquant Sambal relish, Deep-fried whole sea-bass served with Belado sauce... and more...
Ambience wise, it's quite a pleasant place to dine in... boasting contemporary-elegant interior décor, with plenty of white shades... slightly stylish, but certainly not too pretentious.
Prices are quite moderate: set-menu options range around SG$ 20 - 30 per person
Open daily or lunch and dinner
