Opulent Garibaldi is probably one of the most sought after Italian restaurants in Singapore. It has been around for quite a few years and still continues to maintain its high standards.
Located on trendy Purvis Street, the restaurant boasts a classic-elegant décor, with well-stocked wine display along the wall, and perfect table settings... Ambience is relaxed, tranquil and pleasant, and works well for a romantic dinner, as much as for a quiet business lunch.
The chef produces classic Italian cuisine, with a modern twist... Using top quality ingredients and getting constantly good results... the Roasted goose liver with spicy apricot chutney, endive & Balsamic vinegar is one of the must-try entrées, although the Wagyu beef Carpaccio with Parmigiano cheese and rucola is also highly recommended.
The Pasta department highlights include Linguine with crabmeat and vodka sauce and Handmade Bigoli spinach pasta with braised duck, while recommended mains include Grilled prawns with garlic lemon and extra-virgin olive oil, Roast rack of lamb with mint-sauce and artichoke cake and Filetto di manzo (Beef tenderloin with porcini mushrooms, potato gratin, truffle & red wine sauce).
Dessert section is very promising too... Cannolo Siciliano (Sicilian pastry, filled with Ricotta cheese, chocolate chips & pistachio sauce), Chocolate fondant with hazelnut gelato and raspberry coulis, Pannacotta with wild berries compote and, of course, the one and only Tiramisu'...
Prices are relatively high, but the dining experience is hands down superb: Around SG$ 70-100 for a full a-la-carte dinner (Their sensational Menu Degustazione is around SG$ 100), while set lunch is quite a good value at around SG$ 35-40.
Open daily for lunch and dinner (the bar stays open until after midnight)
