This wildly popular restaurant-chain has long become one of the greatest success stories of Singapore's culinary scene.
Established almost 20 years ago, it has numerous outlets across the city-state, from the no-nonsense Crystal Jade Kitchen restaurants, where you can have a decent Cantonese meal in a nice and unpretentious environment (and at a relatively good price), to the 'glitzy and glittering' Crystal Jade Palace and Crystal Jade Golden Palace, where food, décor and ambience compete with the city's most luxurious hotel restaurants.
Crystal Jade Kitchen has quite a few outlets within Singapore's popular shopping malls, so there is always an outlet not too far from you...
Outlets are quite pleasantly decked-out and the ambience is quite nice, although it is not the kind of place you'll go when you want to impress your date with a romantic candlelit dinner... people come here mostly for the food and to catch up with family and friends.
The menu is diversified, with plenty to choose from, and the food is good... strong influence of Hong Kong's style Cantonese cuisine and some delicacies from China's other parts... Dim-sum and dumplings are certainly a must try ! Then there is a wide choice of Congee porridges, BBQs, Noodle dishes, Rice specialties and what not... Sweet and sour pork, Beef slices with sautéed mushrooms, Fried beef hor fun, Chicken with bittergourd, Deep fried wanton, Claypot Tofu, Braised tofu with fish maw, Sio Bak /Siu Yok (roasted pork), Stone-pot fried rice, and Scallop with beancurd in black bean sauce are just some of the worth-mentioning items on the menu...
Prices are quite reasonable. Hi-Tea & dinner set menu are also available.
