Cork, the latest addition to one of Singapore's most creative café & restaurant groups, the Marmalade group, combines a wine cellar and an excellent fusion restaurant under one roof.
Located within the glittering Capital Tower, one of Singapore's ten highest skyscrapers, its modern and stylish, yet cozy and elegant interior décor features plenty of light wood, clean lines and very high ceiling which gives a feeling of spaciousness. Well-stocked wine displays along the walls are also part of the décor...
The food they serve is very creative and flavorful ... most of the menu consists of tapas-sized appetizers (short orders, as they are called here), which means you get a chance to try many different things: Freshly shucked oysters and shallot mignonette, Fennel cured salmon with lemon confit oil, Char-grilled tuna loin with pesto and garden herbs, Salt & pepper prawn with lime aioli, Sautéed chicken liver on toast with radish salad, Roasted bone-marrow with onion and raisin marmalade and more...
Recommended main dishes include: Risotto with artichokes and crispy shallots, Pan roasted sea-bass with brown butter and capers, sautéed potatoes and chorizo, and Seafood Bouillabaisse and then there are some lovely desserts, worth considering, like: Dark chocolate and whiskey mousse with white chocolate or Lemon cheesecake with caramelized walnut and summer-berries
Prices are quite reasonable for this type of restaurant: around SG$ 40 - 60 for a full a-la-carte dinner.
Open from Monday to Friday, lunch throughout to dinner (with afternoon tea-session in between)
