This splendid café-restaurant serves some of the best Middle Eastern food in Singapore, in a cheerful and unpretentious environment.
The restaurant sprawls over a complex which comprises of a few shops joined together, so it actually has different 'sections', each with its own unique character: There is a room where a group of friends can seat on the carpeted floor, or on cushions, around low tables, and there are areas where you can dine around 'ordinary' tables... Then there is the 'alfresco' area, where you can seat by the street and just enjoy your Hubble-bubble (shisha)... whichever mood you are in, you'll probably find a corner to suit you.
The extensive menu features a wide range of delicious Middle Eastern delicacies... You really need to come here geared with lots of appetite, to enjoy all those lovely dishes that flow from the kitchen... "Mezze" are dips and salads that are served on small plates, as starters, and Le Caire serves a good selection of them, including Hummus, Labna, Babaganoush (eggplants and tahini paste), Tabbouleh and the likes...
Recommended main dishes include the Mix Grills, Shish Tawouk (chicken shishkebab), Shawarma (Doner kabab), Kofta and Mahamaz (stir fried lamb with rice). There are also some splendid desserts, like Halwa and Baklava.
Prices are quite reasonable.
