Owned by celebrity-chef Emmanuel Stroobant, This semi stylish resto-bar is fantastically located on Robertson Quay, facing the Singapore River.
The indoor seating area, featuring modern décor in hues of light cream and dark chocolate, encircles the long oval bar at the centre. Floor to ceiling glass wall separates it from the 'alfresco' area, which means that even when you seat on the bar, you can still enjoy the view... The outdoor area stretches along the riverside promenade, surrounded by lush greenery, and some of it is covered (so you can still seat there even when it rains).
Brussels Sprouts is a nice place, whether you just want to chill-out with a cold beer and a snack, or whether you feel like having a proper dinner... It boasts a pleasant atmosphere that is classy and easygoing at the same time.
The bar stocks dozens of different Belgian and International beers and ales, as well as an impressive variety of wines, champagnes, liquors and non-alcoholic beverages...
The kitchen produces lovely Belgian food, with some Southeast Asian influence, and there is a decent choice of scrumptious finger-foods like Rollmops (marinated Herring with onion and apple-salad), Beer battered onion-rings, Toast ‘Cannibal' with Steak Tartare and Grey Shrimps Croquettes, or more 'serious' dishes like Pasta lemon cream (with smoked salmon and caviar), Braised meatballs with dark beer sauce, onion and mustard and, of course... succulent Belgian style Beef steaks.
Quite naturally, mussels seem to be a big thing here and they are prepared in more than a dozen different styles. If you order a bucket of mussels, you'll get a free flow of fries with it...
You should also try to leave some room for the Belgian Waffle or the Chocolate cake...
