Fantastically located on Robertson quay, overlooking the Singapore River, this fabulous brasserie serves the best of classic French cuisine in a semi-casual environment that makes you feel far more comfortable and relaxed than in a ritzy 'haute-cuisine' establishment...
Chef Claudio Sandri seems to be following the overall theme of the restaurant, combining authentic and classic French cooking, with some contemporary touches... The results are superb: Delicious food that is rich in flavor yet not too heavy.
Recommended salads include the Salad Nicoise (with freshly grilled Tuna), Goat cheese with crisp crust (served with Mesclun Salad and sundried tomatoes) and the Gourmande Salad (with smoked duck breast, duck confit and foie-gras).
Among the Hors d'oeuvres and the mains, we can recommend the Pan seared duck foie-gras with caramelized apples, Oven roasted duck breast with figs and port sauce and the succulent Australian steaks. The menu, however, features a good selection of both fish, seafood, chicken and red meat...
Make sure you leave some room for the desserts, as they are gorgeous... Crepe suzette with vanilla ice-cream, Apples Tart-Tatin and Dark chocolate mousse, just to mention a few...
Prices are definitely fair for this kind of splurge: SG$ 50 - 70 for a full a-la-carte dinner (there are also good value set-lunch-options, at SG$ 30 - 40))
