Ananda Bhavan Restaurant

.

.

This small and popular chain started its way more than 70 years ago and claims for the title of "Singapore's oldest existing vegetarian restaurant"...

While there is absolutely nothing pretentious or stylish about the interior décor, the food here is good and the menu is quite diversified, boasting a wide range of vegetarian delicacies from all over the subcontinent... From Goa in the south to Kashmir in the north, and from Mumbai in the west to Calcutta in the east... ad if that is not enough, there is also a selection of Southeast Asian noodle dishes...

Decent choice of Indian breads... From fresh Parathas and Naans (flatbread) with different stuffing and toppings to Chapati, Kulcha and more...  Great selection of vegetarian curries (including "dry curries" like the famous Aloo Gobi),  Dosa (a rolled crispy crêpe, stuffed with various fillings and served with different sauces and dips) and lots of scrumptious Indian snacks and small foods...

Prices are very moderate: SG$ 10 - 20 should be more than enough for a decent meal.
