A Lorcha

Located nearby the Maritime Museum and A-Ma Temple, A Lorcha is one of Macau's most favorite Portuguese restaurants, and has been referred to by many as "the restaurant that serves the best Portuguese food outside Portugal"...

The rustic, colonial-Portuguese style décor contributes to the pleasant atmosphere in this rather small and cozy restaurant, and the food is simply superb... Both seafood and meat dishes are equally good.

Recommended strters include: Chouriço assado (char-grilled Portuguese chorizo sausage), Warm bread & octopus salad, Beef samosas, Prawn pie and Pig ear salad.

Recommended mains include: Galinha à Africana ("African-style" chicken),  Galinha à Portuguesa (Portuguese style chicken with coconut and turmeric),  Arroz de marisco a Portuguesa (Portuguese-style Seafood Stewed Rice, with prawns, clamps and crab ), Arroz “Chau Chau” a Portuguesea (Portuguese Fried Rice),  Bacalhau com natas (baked cod with potato in  cream sauce),  Ameijoas “Bulhao Pato” (Clams “Bulhao Pato” style with garlic, coriander and olive oil),  Ox Tail Stew,  Pan-fried clams with garlic, Clams with tomato and herbs sauce and more... You can definitely allow yourself to be adventurous when placing your order, as there is very little chance you will be disappointed.

The lovely dining experience is complemented by a decent wine list (Portuguese, naturally) and some nice desserts like Serradura (vanilla whipped cream and crushed biscuits) and Mousse au chocolat, and the service is very good too.

Prices are quite reasonable considering the quality of the food: Dinner is around MOP$ 250 per person

Open for lunch and dinner (reservations are recommended, especially for dinner)
